- Former Deputy President Hon. Rigathi Gachagua today attended a funeral service in Makueni Constituency under tight security.
This attendance comes three weeks after a dramatic scene in which Gachagua and his allies were attacked and chased by goons from a funeral held at Ngarariga in Limuru, Kiambu County.
The Limuru funeral chaos went viral across the country with Rigathi Gachagua and his political allies accusing President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza administration of assassination attempts on the former Deputy President.
Unlike during the Limuru funeral drama where the former DP featured without security guards, today he made a dramatic appearance at Makueni funeral with hawk-eyed body guards.

Gachagua’s body guards consists of former security officers who are retired but offered to protect him from any potential harm that may befall him. He recently revealed that retired officers volunteered to provide his security.

These officers were today seen providing him with the tight security he needs to avoid any more funeral drama like the one that was witnessed during the Limuru funeral.
The officers were also spotted standing behind him at the VIP lounge where he took his seat as the chief guest. Gachagua was in the company of his wife Pastor Dorcas Rigathi and other allies.
“Pastor Dorcas Rigathi and I joined the family of Bishop Dr. Francis Mulinge (National Chairman of United Clergy Alliance) for the Burial Service of his loving Mother Agnes Mwikali Muiya at Mbooni Constituency in Makueni County. We pray that the Lord console and comfort the family, friends and relatives at this time of loss. May the Soul of Agnes Rest in Eternal Peace,” Gachagua stated on his official social media pages.
