Speaking today at the Kilifi international investment conference, President Ruto addressed concerns over the new health coverage. This was after law makers claimed the transition from NHIF should have been gradual as citizens were being onboarded They demanded that the death of patients who may have died during the transition should be accounted for.
The law makers had also raised an alarm over the 1.4 billion shillings used to procure an IT for SHIF system that is largely faulty.
An alarm was also raised regarding the government leasing medical equipment to mysterious suppliers which may potentially create losses to the health fund.
