  1. Mogotio Member of Parliament Reuben Kiborek has sparked debate with his recent remarks defending President William Ruto’s performance since his election in 2022. Kiborek claimed that Ruto’s achievements in two years surpass those of his predecessor, Uhuru Kenyatta, despite mounting criticism over unfulfilled promises.

Since assuming office, President Ruto has faced growing public frustration over his administration’s inability to address critical issues such as the high cost of living, economic stabilization, and the completion of key infrastructure projects, including roads and electrification. These were among the cornerstone promises of his campaign, which resonated with millions of Kenyans eager for a better future. However, the slow pace of tangible change has left many questioning the administration’s commitment to its pledges.

Kiborek, however, argued that Ruto’s leadership is being unfairly judged, emphasizing the strides made in certain areas such as agricultural subsidies and reforms aimed at improving governance. According to the MP, these early interventions lay the groundwork for long-term economic recovery and development. He also suggested that some of the criticism stems from political rivalries and deeply entrenched tribal divisions rather than an objective assessment of the government’s performance.
