A woman lost her life on Saturday morning while three other individuals sustained minor injuries after a Toyota vehicle they were travelling in collided head-on with a bus at Tegero area on the Narok-Bomet Road.
Police reports indicate that the 4am accident occurred after the driver of the Toyota Ist, en route to Narok, lost control of the vehicle, veering off its lane and colliding with an Easy Coach bus that was headed in the opposite direction.
“The accident involved a motor vehicle registration number KCW 010N Mitsubishi Fuso bus c/o Easy Coach Limited which was being driven from Narok general direction towards Bomet with 34 passengers while motor vehicle registration number KBL 135W Toyota Ist from the opposite direction with four passengers,” a police report documenting the incident reads.
“On reaching at the location of the accident the motor vehicle KBL 135W Toyota Ist lost control and rammed on oncoming Easy Coach bus..one female passenger in the car died on the spot while the driver of the car and two other passengers were slightly injured.”
None of the bus’ occupants were injured during the incident.
The injured persons were subsequently rushed to Narok County Referral Hospital for treatment while the deceased was taken to the facility’s morgue.
Both motor vehicles have since been towed to Ololulunga Police Station awaiting inspection.
