The protest, organised by the Kenya Medical Practitioners, Pharmacists, and Dentists’ Union (KMPDU), highlights delays in implementing key agreements, including a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) signed in 2017 and a Return-To-Work Formula (RTWF) agreed upon earlier this year.
The march began at Kenyatta National Hospital and is expected to proceed to Afya House, Parliament Buildings, and other key government offices.
The union has stressed that the demonstration is peaceful and within the bounds of the law, with adequate police presence deployed to ensure order.
The primary issues fuelling the protest include delayed salaries, poor working conditions, and the government’s failure to fulfil promises made to healthcare workers after a strike earlier this year
